And So It Begins – Original Hand-Embellished Canvas by RD Riccoboni

And So It Begins

In And So It Begins, I wanted to create a rainbow wash of color in this portrait. Blues, pinks, oranges, yellows, and greens flow across the figure and into the background. Part of my Beachcake series, this painting is an exploration of color across the body. Not every experiment turns out well, but I like how this one did.

In high school, a teacher told me, “You can paint.” Later, I met three famous artists who told me the same thing. They told me to just keep painting till I found my voice. Ask me who!

Original Hand-Embellished Canvas

This 16 × 20 inch canvas begins as a giclée of my painting. I hand-embellish it with original added brushwork and sign it.

Allow 3–4 weeks. I ship from my studio in historic Balboa Park, San Diego.
