Beartropolis 2069 – Signed Art Print by RD Riccoboni

What if you looked out a jet window and saw a city laid out in the shape of a man?

That’s Beartropolis 2069, my aerial fantasy map of a city built for and by the bear community. I filled the towns and streets of Beartropolis with over a hundred years of coded language from queer life, from dating dilemmas to iconography. Have a good laugh, revisit some good memories, and explore.

I named the roads, districts, and landmarks after LGBTQ+ slang, and icons, from the Judy Garland National Forest to the Village of East Cher, from Oscar Wilde Peak to Morningwood Heights, from Fabulous to Butch to Dadbots to Dopplebanger Canyon. And yes, in my imagined city, you fly in and out of RuPaul International Airport. Of course you do.

I invite you to spend some time reading the map. Which names bring back a memory, and which ones make you laugh? Bring a print into your home or workspace and share the discoveries with your visitors.
