It Was the Valet
Besides painting, I write too. Sometimes it’s gay sci-fi. I combine illustration and writing. It’s fun!
It Was the Valet is one of my illustrations from Knights of the Vermillion Rose.
In this story, Richardson Wacker spends his last paycheck on a Law of Attraction workshop in Carlsbad, California. Back home in Pacoima, he wonders how he’ll pay his rent, and whether he’ll ever meet a nice guy.
Grand expectations. Rent still due.
Then a certified letter arrives, and his circumstances take a turn. Enter Meadows, a dashing, attentive personal assistant. Is he flirting? I give you a little romance and mystery to live with on your wall, without giving away what happens next.
My first show was in a Los Angeles coffee shop. Where there's a wall, there's a way. A movie star bought a painting and told me, “You can paint.” Today my art hangs in museums and homes around the world. I’m still a storyteller in paint, whether the story starts in a coffee shop or takes a rather stranger turn.
